Rockin' Registered Black Angus

Rockin Captain Midnight 909 - AAA 19453611 - Our current herd bull

At the Rockin’ TD Ranch, we’re raising registered black angus cattle.  Why did we decide on this particular breed?  It is because of their appearance, traits, disposition and docility (stay out of harms way).  Our motto here is quality, not quantity, and our cattle are raised at 5,500 to 6,500 feet altitude which results in a lower risk of developing high-altitude disease (HAD), or congestive right heart failure, and are range developed and ready for most of our west's higher altitude grazing.  Our terrain ranges from grasses to rocky hillsides to improve their physical attributes and Pulmonary Arterial Pressure EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences) and developing strong hooves, legs and stamina. We continue to breed our sires/dams to improve their overall EPD's.  Please come to see them in person to get a total picture.  They look great both visually and on paper.

All of our cattle are DNA tested which ensures that their pedigree is traceable from birth.  This also assures who the sire/dam are without guessing. This increases our administrative work load but always allows for comparing the dynamic results of an ever-changing angus herd.  What does this mean in plain language?  Our DNA EPD's are rechecked regularly with current American Angus Association DNA standards.  We work harder having registered cattle but we enjoy doing so as it results in more progressive, less subjective and more accurately reported results from our breeding.  It also assures our buyers that we are concentrating on breeding the traits that are most desirable.  If you are interested in adding quality to your herd, please contact us.
